I went to shanghai, hangzhou and Chengdu on the 3rd week of april 2026.
Well Shanghai is supernice and modern, dirty cappuccino very-very nice streetwear retails and cool building. Hangzhou is very romantic in contrast to shanghai : rivers, pagoda, tea lodge with a very nice tea off course
Yet my best trip is to the last city I visit in china and the latest popular among them which was : CHENGDU ,The origin city of Panda and Sichuan Hot Pot
Yet the youth culture and curated cool lifestyle here is more organic and generous even from the big apple shanghai
I went to EASTERN SUBURB MEMORY which was like old train factory turn into a creative compound :
They have international retail present from Ray-Ban and Adidas into a selection local brands like CHRISLV , Fintage, STA HOOD, DON'FALL and moreover there also vintage thrift store which selling vintage NBA Jersey, secondhand Chrome Hearts etc
This Chic Compund also featuring edgy curated FnB space like ramen, chinese noodle joint, burger shop with dry aging meat, tap beers bar, cool space coffee
and many more atmospheric restaurant
The ambience of old factory make the Vintage Memory concept is very strong and delivered in here, absolutely best space I visit in my china trip
Onto the next one is : COSMO MALL
A fledging mall concepted for showcasing of the localbrands
Although you see a lot of familiar international presence like PUMA, FILA and GENTLE MONSTER
but 90% of the curated retail are locals china mostly from the Chengdu Neighbors
Local Multibrand store like 1807 having a big space in the first floor
While streetstyle western inspired brand like : LOSTCTRL, PMW, Nonradical also have a strong present
Womens brand like MUVA Bag, Candymade and Summers Fragrance also have a retail space here making this mall also accessible for unisex fashion
But the one who caught my eyes are chinese inspired vintage pieces interpreted in modern fashion by the name of ARMY LOGIC
Very strong concept and excellent garments
So theres my two must visit places in Chengdu, after all this city is more than just panda
A lot of hidden gems and nice products
